“Tech Corner” is a place to share in-depth ideas about technology and our recent developments in technology and new software capabilities. Web 2.0 has enabled people to find each other, communicate and exchange information with one another in a wide variety of social, educational and commerce related activities. This is only a start when we consider the potential for technology that augments and participates with its collaborators. Web 2.0 technology has not been an active collaborator, it has only been somewhat passive in the revolution of collaboration and open-source technology.

Internet technologies are quickly moving out of Web 2.0 functionalities and into Web 3.0. The new eDoorways application software will enable a personal computing environment to understand more about the user and their collaborations in ways that wholly personalizes the users’ online experience.

Web 3.0 creates a unique online experience based on:

* Who you are
* What you are doing in the present
* What you have done in the past
* How you choose to do things
* Why you choose to do things
* Where you do what you do
* Your intelligence and what you already know
* How you learn and assimilate new information

Understanding these factors creates a “context” for human collaborations. The more time a user spends in their computing environment, the more it will "learn" about who they are, what they do, and what they need. In Web 2.0, we gained access to information and resources across the globe like never before experienced. In Web 3.0, we finally get the support and help we need to get the right information faster and to be able to integrate that information in real time.

This year's much-anticipated unveiling of Apple's iPad is a major leap in the world of computing.  This timely introduction of the latest in the Apple product line-up comes to market mirroring eDoorways' vision of the next-wave of consumer computing.

In anticipation of the introduction of increasingly popular systems, such as the iPad, eDoorways is designing its entire ecosystem with such devices in mind. One such design element of the iPad is native support for a touch-screen environment, a feature which the eDoorways' user interface maximizes with its attention to ease of use and navigation.  The native eDoorways platform is similar to an expanded app, offering both simplicity of use and rich information displayed in a concise space.

eDoorways users are able to navigate the site accessing panes of rich information, from start (query) to finish (real-time connectivity with people, businesses, and solutions).  Other features include the interactive, accordion display of conversations, allowing the user to easily toggle between chats and quickly see new notifications. The same accordion also displays people and businesses that are suggested by the search engine, pointing the user-in-need towards the most relevant connections based upon search terms.  The simplified, concise UI is one amongst many other features of the eDoorways platform that looks to maximize the latest of computing technologies.

The iPad was proclaimed by Duke University's Tracy Futhey as "a revolution in mashing up text, video, course materials, [&] student input". This further supports the eDoorways platform integrating both the SOLVE and LEARN doorways. One criticism against the iPad is that it strips the creative computing elements away from its user by not offering the same processing and software capabilities as a traditional desktop or laptop. However, eDoorways' vision of the future is one of cloud computing and collaboration- a perfect fit for the simplified device.

We are very excited to be developing web software technology that coincides with the latest and greatest in Apple technology. To say it is game changing is an underestimation- this is a new game.
